Post marriage-weight gain

Is it only the women who tend to gain weight post marriage? No, even the men do put on weight post marriage but they are not that much concerned about it. What exactly happens that makes us put on weight and you don't fit in one your favourite jeans?

Sex and weight gain

Some of the sick minds believe that sex is one of the reason which boosts weight gain which is only a myth. Actually a healthy sex life makes you leaner as it helps one to relax and rejoice. There are many marriages where the couple had been having sex even before marriage and they were fit enough before tying the knot. So sex is not the Eason for weight gain. Instead, it's a means of better physical and mental health.

There are many changes that happen to a girl post marriage which are responsible for the abnormal weight gain. Let's reflect on few of the reasons.

1) Meal time - Whether you are married in a joint family or you just stay with your husband, your meal time tends to change. Right from day one, you are occupied with many rituals and a lot of eating. Your intestines tend to rot in the initial days with a lot of traditional food and in large quantities and in the wrong times. Lots of sweets and ghee added up to all your meals harms your system even more. Then comes the honeymoon period which again leads to moving around and again eating a lot in the wrong times while travelling. The big fat wedding and then the honeymoon is so torturing to the poor stomach.
The couple especially the girl becomes so tired after all that you feel like sleeping all the time but you don't get enough sleep. The girl starts feeling home sick, mod swings with all her sentiments flooding.
You have to eat after you serve your family or if you are with your husband only then you need to cook on your own which probably you are not used to. You dont take care of yourself, you don't eat on time, you tend to depend on Maggie or some packaged food or go out and eat and all this adds up to your weight. So please don't blame your hormones all the time.
2) Sleep time - you eat late and hence sleep late. Morning again you wake up late if you are staying alone with your husband or have to wake up too early if you are in a joint family and hence don't get sufficient sleep. This also leads to weight gain.
You make yourself so busy with the household work that you hardly spend time on exercise and cooking something nice and healthy for yourself. Pampering yourself along with your husband, family and kids there after is very necessary. It's only when you keep yourself healthy and happy, you make your family and children happy.
